Man is the basic thing, and man-making is the fundamental work. Every kind of works from personal life to society depends on the quality of the concerned people, which is ruled by their character. The character can also be built through practice. So, we should not lose hope and practice for the improvement of our life. An individual may, of course, attempt at man-making with himself or others. However, to make a serious attempt everywhere and not to leave it as casual endeavours of a few, an organized effort that will cover all parts of the country is essential. And that is the idea behind the Mahamandal.
Computer training has become an integral part of modern education particularly vocational education. Mahamandal run computer training centres, where 80 students receive training. The successful trainees are awarded certificates from the Technical Education Department of Govt. of West Bengal after clearing the examinations.
The Mahamandal runs free coaching centres where students take lessons regularly. In these coaching centres guidance is provided to school and college students particularly from needy families. Both in schools and free coaching centres, special attention is given on character building of students. Weekly study circles are also run there.
The Mahamandal runs Student’s Home as part of educational activities. Students of school stay there as boarders. In these Student’s Homes, the boarders have to live a disciplined life and follow the daily routine in such a manner that they are not confined in career-oriented studies, but also able to manifest their physical and mental power.
Mahamandal provides various types of training related to jobs and competitive exams. This is done through computer training, communication skill training, personality development education, conducting regular exams and above all seminars by experts.
The Mahamandal helps poor students by providing educational aid and by paying money for purchasing books and other educational equipments.
Mahamandal are running charitable dispensaries, both allopathic and homoeopathic. In these dispensaries qualified doctors treat the poor patients and medicines are also supplied free of cost. Besides this service, medical aids and oxygen cylinder are also provided to poor patients.
